2003 acura rsx type s stereo wiring
Hello. I have a 2003 acura rsx type s with the factory provided bose audio system upgrade. I recently bought a Kenwood KDC-MP345U stereo and a pair of Kicker KS 6.5" speakers for my rear. I am currently in a big of a pinch for the wiring. I took out the stock stereo/HU and stupidly cut off the stock wiring harness. I had pretty much dug my own grave because I am currently dealing with wire caps, crimps, etc. to have wires connect from the car audio system to the stereo that I purchased.
So far, I have been following the following wiring diagram:
2003 Acura RSX Car Radio Stereo Wiring Diagram
Car Radio Constant 12v+ Wire: White/Red
Car Radio Switched 12v+ Wire: Yellow/Red
Car Radio Ground Wire: Black
Car Radio Illumination Wire: Red/Black
Car Stereo Dimmer Wire: Red
Car Stereo Antenna Trigger: N/A
Car Stereo Amp Trigger Wire: Brown
Car Stereo Amplifier Location: The Bose Amplifier is located under the front passenger seat.
Front Speakers Size: N/A
Front Speakers Location: N/A
Left Front Speaker Positive Wire (+): Blue
Left Front Speaker Negative Wire (-): Brown
Right Front Speaker Positive Wire (+): Orange
Right Front Speaker Negative Wire (-): Green
Rear Speakers Size: N/A
Rear Speakers Location: N/A
Left Rear Speaker Positive Wire (+): White
Left Rear Speaker Negative Wire (-): Black
Right Rear Speaker Positive Wire (+): Yellow
Right Rear Speaker Negative Wire (-): Red
Here's what has been successful for me up to this point. The power has been setup currently. I have the constant (battery), switched (ignition), and ground wires correctly hooked up and am able to power my stereo. Next, I went through the procedure of hooking up my speaker wires following the following diagram provided in the Kenwood stereo's manual:
Front Left Speaker: white +, white/black -
Front Right Speaker: gray +, gray/black -
Rear Left Speaker: green +, green/black -
Rear Right Speaker: purple +, purple/black -
So to have the right matching, I hook up the blue to the stereo's white..brown to the stereo's white/black...orange to the stereo's gray...green to the stereo's gray/black...so on. I re-connect the battery's "-" node and turn on the battery. I am unable to get sound from my speakers as is.
I have tried the following to no avail:
* Connect opposites (blue + to white/black -, brown - to white +, etc.)
* Connect reversed sides (blue + to gray +, brown - to gray/black -)
* Connect opposites and reversed (blue + to gray/black -, brown - to gray +)
I have the following car audio wires unconnected: red with gray sections along the wire (no idea wtf that is), red/white with gray sections along it (no idea again), and a brown (amp trigger apparently, I connected it to a speaker wire a few times and the factory sub in my trunk started playing the radio).
I also have an issue with my red/black illumination wire not lighting up my dashboard when headlights are on if it's disconnected and capped by itself. I currently have it bridged into the ignition/switched cluster so dashboard and parking lights are on whenever ignition is engaged =/. Poor fix really.
Plz help me!
