It's a 2000 si trans. I had it rebuilt by a local guy that a few people recommended. He's going to make it right if it doesn't work, but just sucks I have to pull it out..

Amazing build! I've been following it for awhile. Hopefully my coupe will look as good as your hatch one day. Great choice on the b16, i was leaning that way for mine. I may go with a j-series though. Keep up the good work!

Damn man. Sucks to hear about the other issues that came up. But like Casey said I'm sure you will get them sorted out and back on track.
I was telling Wes the other day that I think you have made up my mind about what engine I'm going to put in the crx haha.

I think the B16B will be a lot of fun. It's plenty of power for the weight and the 9200RPM redline will be fun. It has to be one of the best sounding all motor 4 cylinders of all time too.

Re: WhiteSlipsWithStickers Refresh Build 2013
Finally got it running this weekend. Runs a little rough around 2000RPM and I have a check engine light, but it seems to run pretty good for the most part. Definitely need to adjust the valves and I think I'm going to invest in an S300 in a chipped P28 soon. I'll likely get it tuned by Humble Performance in Tulsa when it's all said and done. Transmission is coming out this week to get the first and second gear fixed and then hopefully I'll get to drive it.
Exhaust setup is PLM Toda replica w/ 2 1/2" collector, 2 1/2" PLM test pipe, 2 1/2" Yonaka catback with the giant tip removed and a nice stainless pipe in it's place. Nice and deep and not raspy at all from idle to 4000, loses the deepness around that RPM and then has a nice rich almost sportbike sound. I really like the way this cheap catback sounds.
Short revs. This was when I was still a little nervous to rev it up too high-

Thanks!
Pulled the transmission out finally this past weekend and dropped it off with my friend who has rebuilt/built TONS of b-series transmissions over the years. He said sometimes the gears just bind up when you re-assemble everything and if you take it apart and put it back together it fixes the problem. Well, that fixed it and he's going to replace one bearing that was worn and I should have it back this weekend. If there isn't snow on the ground I'll get to drive it for the first time!

Re: WhiteSlipsWithStickers Refresh Build 2013
Finally got the B16B mostly good to go (have to update LMAs) and the transmission is freshened up and working fine. The transmission issue ended up being the tiny little springs and washers that go on the bottom of the case that limit the range of the shift selectors. One spring was replaced with what looked like a K-series spring and was about 1mm shorter than it should be causing the shift selector to bind and not go in to gear. I replaced both springs, washers, and BBs with new stuff from Honda and it worked like a charm. The car pulls super hard from 7,000 RPM all the way to 9,000RPM and the freshened up brakes and suspension feel so much better than the old worn out stuff. I've had this car 12 years next month, so it's cool to have it back on the road after being down for 22 months.

Re: WhiteSlipsWithStickers Refresh Build 2013
I was honestly trying to shift a little slow otherwise it just blows the tires off for have of second gear.
I love that picture.
Thanks! It's down again now to replace the LMAs, but at least that's not too terribly expensive, just a pain in the ***.... 22 months was brutal. Luckily in that time I had a modded WRX that was honestly way faster than the civic will ever be to hold me over. I went about 8 months without a fun car though and it was so boring.

Re: WhiteSlipsWithStickers Refresh Build 2013
After reading about LMAs way too much I've found that the aluminum cap that the rocker rides on isn't machined thick enough on the Junk 2 and Blox LMAs and are known to cause problems.... Lovely right? The SOS LMAs seem to be the way to go if you don't want to spend $300+ on OE LMAs.
