Re: SHG is back! Easy's EP3 goes under the knife...
Finally have a chance to update with the rest of the install...
Heres a comparison between the original springs and the ERS springs I switched to. Buddy Club uses 8" springs, but this adds extra weight and leaves much less room for ride height adjustment. Since I was switching rates anyway i went with a 6" spring. You can see how much extra room there is in the picture. Both struts are adjusted to the same overall length...
.
.
One of the only drawbacks of these coilovers was that the schrader valves for the nitrogen were not a standard thread or length, so I couldnt install the charge tool on them. I had to re-thread them, then file down the base so the tool could thread on all the way to make a seal...
.
.
Once that was done I got the canisters charged with nitrogen, set at 175 psi
.
.
Here they are installed with the new strut bar! I used some heat barrier foil around the canisters to help prevent heat soak. Notice the sweet intake lol. Unfortunately the airbox doesnt clear the canisters and i really have no other mounting option for them, so this is a temporary fix until I figure out a new intake setup!
.
.
Threw some gold foil on the brake lines where they come close to the rotor and caliper too. Ive seen the teflon coating on the lines become brittle on other cars from exposure to high heat
.
.
And here are some pics from the alignment tonight. No corner weight for now since I had another car on the scales at the time.

new update is very nice, are those canisters too much in the way of the VC? seems like a lot to take off to get access to the coils or to take off the VC, did you take off the top of the airbox to allow for more room?
and i might steal your idea on my brake lines for my install...

Any plan to upgrade the intake manifold? My engine bay is as tight as yours and the RSP intake manifold fit with just slight massaging of the rad support, It appears to match the RRC on stock compression k24s....still unknown how they compare on built long blocks and ported heads.
Awesome updates BTW...

it seems this is the new direction that most people are aiming for with their cars these days.

I want to find a set of aftermarket hood hinges for cf hoods that don't require a hood prop. There is a company that makes these but I can't recall the name off hand (they always advertise in Honda Tuning).
I've been browsing through your blog for the past hr. Greeeeeeat pics

Can you move to the bay area or clone yourself and put him in the bay area and have EasyE clone work on my S2000?
Great update!

Amazing work as usual Evan!
Just curious, do you add extra oil prior to track events, or stick w/ the regular 5-qts; & what grade?

Holy moley. Beautiful work, those brackets are awesome. I am in awe of your work and abilities and how much thought you put into everything... rebuilding your shocks is nuts! This is an AMAZING car.

What baffle are you planning to use? I'm looking to get the Clockwise Motion oil pan baffle & TTS timing chain baffle. I like the trap door design and the fact it doesn't need to be welded in.

Im doing the clockwise baffle (we already have one for the DC5) and my own timing chain baffle. No sense in paying for something I can easily make myself
