Re: Panchoek's build thread
50F+ degrees in January is pretty rare in Iowa. so I decided to put my summer/autox suspension and wheels back on. Also had my mechanic install all the hardrace components that I had. There is not one suspension bolt that hasn't been turned and anti-seized!! Replacing everything now will just (hopefully) prevent headaches and downtime during the rest of the year. Now I just have to get an alignment and do some aggressive driving. Also installed 3-point password jdm strut bar I had sitting for a long time. Going to mock up the front splitter later this week also

Re: Panchoek's build thread
while I had my bumper off and mocking up the front spitter and couldn't help but notice the radiator! just looks horrible. I had a full size Koyo radiator sitting for over a year and I actually had it for sale because I thought I didn't need it. so I decided to install it
Shinny!!
the way I have mounted it was I let it sit on one of the mounts and then I made straps that would attach to the radiator support. They are pretty solid on there, only time will tell if I made a good choice or not
started with this then I shaped it bit and cleaned up
and how it looks installed
for the top I did the same but painted them black so they would look better
Looks pretty good, now i just have to wire up the fan and add coolant!
Now I can move onto the splitter

Re: Panchoek's build thread
since the civic is snowed in, wont be doing anything for a while so the plan for this week is rebuild and paint the calipers
got new pistons because the old ones didn't looked got and had some surface rust in them so I got new pistons, gaskets, and bleeder screws. started by wire wheel brushing and painting the caliper brackets, I think they turned out great. Next come the calipers

Re: Panchoek's build thread
got a couple packages today, first I got new parts for my stock shifter: O-rings, joint collar, and bushings. I currently have a b&m short shifter but its kind of far from my seating position, so going to be using the stock one.
new vs. old
second I got my tires, 225/45 hoosier a7, they look pretty beefy, ill get some pictures tomorrow with the rpf1
car finally moved after a couple weeks, alignment should be coming up next
the subie in the back

Re: Panchoek's build thread
so its been a while since an update, april 12th is first autocross of 2015 so pretty excited for that. forecast is 60 degrees this whole week so I finally put on my CTR wing, SI lip, and grill. I also test fitted the wheels again and it rubbing on the inside part so im going to have to hammer a few spots on the inside or else its going to chew up the tire the first event
also picked up a harbor freight jack, so far its great hopefully it holds for a few years

Re: Panchoek's build thread
So season opener is this Saturday. A test n' tune in Nebraska on Saturday and then local region autocross on Sunday. Unfortunately forecast for Sunday is rain so it won't be as fun but still better than nothing. I can't run r-comps in the rain so I got some Nitto Neogen's mounted on rpf1's and whenever its not raining I will have the r-comps to run which are also mounted on rpf1's
P.S. I need to install the front splitter, it will make the front end look so mean!!

Re: Panchoek's build thread
big weekend opener, Saturday was at Nebraska for a test n' tune, plenty of runs and got the tire pressures and a lot of the car dialed in. So come Sunday for my local region I was well prepared and ready to hammer down. and then BAMMM fastest time of the day, couldn't believe it. Basically held it down for the whole day, if this is a glimpse of whats to come this season, I cannot wait!!
