Sup dudes,

So Sunday I ended up getting rid of my DA, for those of you that remember I had a restoration/build thread on here and G2IC. My DA was my FIRST CAR EVER, I started doing stuff to it probably about a month or 2 after I owned it. I bought it from a friend who got it from his brother, his brother did a lot of the motor work to it so I had a good platform to get me addicted. If you havent seen it search my name and find my thread. Now I miss that car for 2 reasons. 1. It was faster and 2. It was my first car, so I have an attachment to it. I loved it, appreciated it, worked my heart and soul into it, but I had to move on!

Ended up getting this:

Only Interior shot (trust me, that Greddy badge was removed All the random **** was the other guys stuff before we traded)

1993 Civic CX Hatch:

D15b7 with about 90k miles on it
Chassis has 190xxx on it

Came with:
-Ebay Coil Sleeves on stock struts (the ride is suprisingly good, and its pretty slammed )
-NGK Plugs
-NGK Wires
-Rear Disks
-JDM Cluster
-Civic Si seats
-New Carpet
-Clean rear seats
-New Tint
-EK sideskirts
-x2 12 inch Pioneer Subs
-Eclipse Amp
-Pioneer Speakers
-Decent paint job (Sunburst Orange, Chevrolet color)
-JDM Cluster
-Other little odds and ends

I was able to keep a few things from my Integra. Like my head unit and Volks.

Now there are a few problems with the car right now (i've owned it for about 3 days now)

1. Cracked Windshield
2. Chipped Front Bumper
3. Hopping Idle
4. Fogs don't work
5. Exhaust Leak
6. Interior needed to be put back together.

The car used to have a K-Series, but then the guy blew it up, rewelded in the stock mounts, and threw in the D-Series...

Heres a few quick pics I took before I got to work:

You can see the chips in the bumper, the bump in the hood from the K-series intake mani, and the crack in the windshield

My OG Volk AVs from my old DA

Got it Sunday night. Drove 3 hours to Raleigh to meet with the guy, got home at 1am on Sunday, slept in, and went to work. Today I had off of work and finally got to sit down and do some work on it.

So first thing was first, I had to get rid of the hopping idle. At idle, the car would hop from 1k to 2k and drop back down, then repeat, over and over, but only in neutral. It sounded like I was reving on people when we were at stop lights, kinda sucked Not only that, it used up gas and because of the small exhaust leak it made a nasty gas smell.

So I hopped on HT, checked the EG thread and found out that a dirty IACV is often a factor in surging idles.

Hello little single cam!

The IACV is located on the backside of the intake manifold. Its held on by 2 10mm bolts and 2 coolant hoses.

Removed the shitty intake, and noticed a few things...

That thing hanging there is my map sensor, its just hanging by the hose going to the intake manifold... Very weird..

Maybe someone can tell me where this is mounted on EGs. I know on my DA it was right near the brake booster...

Anyway, after a little trouble, I finally got the IACV off, The filter was nasty, and there was this glue/adhesive covering parts of it

So I poured some simple green into it, sloshed it around, poured it out, repeat, until no more shitty dirty liquid came out.

Let it dry out, went back outside and reinstalled, started up the car, and the idle still surged... ****!

So I hop back online, the boys in the EG hatch thread tell me about the FITV, so I go back off and take that little bitch off.

The FITV is located under the throttle body, its held on by 1 hose and 3 12mm bolts. 2 of the bolts are easy to get to, the 3rd is kinda difficult but you can do it with a little wrench. Put a rag down or some paper towels when removing it, because coolant will come pouring out...

Anyway, I was kinda anxious to get this thing working so I stopped taking pics of the process until I got it out:

Heres the FITV before it was disassembled:

Remove these 2 screws to get to the assembly:

Now, usually you have to unscrew the assembly, but mine just fell out, it wasnt threaded on for some reason. As you can see (I know the pic is blurry) it was pretty dirty

Everything disassembled and cleaned :

Cleaned and reassembled, you can see that I threaded the assembly in too:

Well, I go outside, mount it all up, and sure enough it works! . I'm idling at 1200 right now at operating temperatures, but I can adjust the idle easy.

So I went out to finally joy ride and get a feel for the car!

Stopped and took a few quick pics. You can see the color of the car a little better, its an orangish copper. I really like it, and I've never been into orange cars

Overall i'm very satisfied with the car, its gonna take a little getting used to as my Integra was relatively decked out. The EG is definately slower, and no P/S and **** like that makes it feel a bit more raw and less refined, but I like it! Very comfy car. Only thing I hate is the clutch (my DA had an exedy stage 2) and the shifter (my DA was short shifted), but its all good, I got plans for that

I'm sure you guys are wondering what I have in store for this thing. We'll i've already got two things waiting to go on:

Cusco Strut Bar (Thanks Brice.Hayden for ALREADY hooking me up with parts ):

Skunk 2 Coil Sleeves (Also from Brice.Hayden ):

And I got more stuff on the way!

Thanks for look guys! Shoutouts to Robbie (watisjdm) and Brice (Brice.Hayden) for being there during the trade. Thanks [pejorative]gots!

Damn I guess you did actually get rid of the DA. Youll slowly regret it man, trust me. I tried driving a EK hatch a while back and couldnt take it anymore lol, I had to get the teg back together But hey, who knows? You might end up liking this more than the DA..

Moving on... I like the hatch though, the color is pretty cool. You got any engine plans for this thing? Good luck with it, ill be keeping up on this

Strange, if 12mm are to big, then 13mms wont fit on mine..
