Kimos DC2 tear down and rebuild thread!!! RHD
my car has come a long way and been through alot of changes.. Now i have finally decided to tear it down and rebuild it from the ground up, and do it all right with no shortcuts this time!
This is how the car started-
i bought the car, with the jdm front on steelies- put my volks on it for my old hatch
to this (powdercoated the wheels)
takata green TE37s-- this was about 4 years ago-
to the sanding and body work phase
right after paint- (2004)
my first set up-- mugen wing/mugen rep front/sides and the emotions
then to the type Cs
THen came the mugens- Mf8s
Then the zeal bumper and turbo-
then came the Silver advans-
Then the black and blue advans(different set)
Then came the cwest!!!! Authentic front (vis sides and rear)
and a replica front (that i got rid of)
back to TE37s in white with the new cwest on
then, i bought some 3 piece volk 3s
then i wrecked the car-
then fixed the front end-
replaced the headlight, and bought a J's racing hood
painted the hood black, bought some 17 inch te37s and traded my bride ergo 1s for some red Zeta 3s-
I drove my car to the house just like you see it.. and began stripping it--
here is what arrived a few months ago-
I stripped out my car. and started drilling--
UPDATES SOON!
began firewall removal
OUT FIREWALL OUT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
here we go firewall out!! what a pain in the ***!!
RHD firewall out and ready!
Then after prying, and a couple love taps-- we managed to get that bad boy in place- (welding starts sunday!)
some welding
off to the body shop!
picked up a K24!
wheels refinished
firewall finished
primered
shaved and painted (thanks to prestine image)
started putting it back together again 3/28/09
k24 motor IN!!!

Dude, you have ***** messing with a car that already looks great. By the time it's finished though, I'm sure it'll look even better than before. Btw, you have had more money in wheels than I've had in cars...

Re: (B18CUL8R)
!!!!!
I wrestled with the firewall for like 7 hours yesterday-- its a pain!!!!!!!!!
so i decided to take it out in pieces... working on the left side, and had some success! its a nightmare!! I had a guy tell me he would charge me 900 do to everything... sometimes i wonder if i should have just paid for it!!!
BUT I have to say, this is one awesome experience to be doing myself!!

I'd be soooo scared to go that far with it. I like how you don't follow the norm with your mods and got the body kit and 17s and pull it off well. I noticed you are in Ikon, are you coming up to Tulsa for IFO in September?

yea that would be a problem then = p the amount of work being done to it will consume your want to work on it too. just dont let yourself get bored of it.. the wiring isnt to bad also but itll be fun
