Default Casey's 1992 Civic Si build

As I mentioned in my Integra build thread (that got derailed when this popped up) https://honda-tech.com/appearance-bu...build-3272426/ I have found a new project. The Integra is such a great DD I didnt want to lose that aspect by turning it into a major project.

This car popped up at the perfect time, with the right price. It will work out great for a couple reasons. First is that I now have a dedicated car to mess with, and one to drive every day. Secondly, four years ago I planned a very thorough 92 hatch restoration on a VX I had. I had a lot going on and decided to part ways with the aftermarket and all the brand new OEM parts I purchased for it (kicking myself now). This shell is about 99% the same as what I had planned for, exterior wise on that build.

This car popped up on a local facebook group for an extremely reasonable price in my opinion. It has been painted by the same person that did my ITR, and is incredible shape. In addition to that, when the car was painted, it received brand new trim, moldings, wiper cowl, side skirts, mud flaps and a windshield. It has been garage kept since painted and not seen rain. I was completely stoked when I saw it in person, and made the commitment to buy it at that point.

Ive been collecting parts for it for about a month, and transferred over any parts I had for the Integra build that will work. Ill try to keep this thread updated as the build progresses.

My goal with this car is fairly similar to most of my other builds. Mugen parts, enjoyable to drive on the street, and a nice look. It will have plenty of new OEM parts as well as some aftermarket/custom stuff. No bay shaving but some tuck stuff may stay in or be added

Current plans:

Paint the engine bay
install swap and enjoy

Heres a pic of it when I went to go look at it at the sellers house

Good point lol

When I purchased the shell I was given the opportunity to buy the HMO JDM ITR longblock with it. Its hard to beat the reliability of a low mileage motor from the most reputable importer around, and the price was definitely right. I bought the motor as well. Plan is to try and clean it up/remove oxidation and clear the block. If im not able to get it reasonably clean Ill spray it with engine builder cast aluminum paint.

To mount the engine, I decided to purchase HASport street engine mounts from Matt at ICB Motorsport. I went with his exclusive gunmetal finish. I definitely like the color and I have had 5+ sets of HASport mounts and have never had a single issue.

As for transmission/flywheel/clutch:

The longblock did not come with a transmission unfortunately. I really wanted an LSD transmission. I kept an eye out and a b16 s4c popped up with a quaife lsd already installed. The seller seemed very straightforward and I went ahead and picked it up

For clutch, I picked up an exedy stage 1. I have used this clutch multiple times in the past on similar setups. It has a good feel and decent lifespan

pic pending

I went with an ACT prolite flywheel due to the low weight and price

suspension:

This is a street car. I have no desire to auto x, road race, or drag race this car. With that in mind, I went with Progress CSS2. The shocks are valved correctly for the springs provided (450F, 350R) so I have no need for adjustable damping. I purchased brand new top hats so the whole setup is brand new. No flashy colors here. All business

As for sway bars, I am keeping the oem front sway bar. For rear, I went with an Eibach 17mm. Should be a very neutral setup

The engine bay and overall feel of the exterior really reminds me of my car. That body looks straighter than mine though. In for this!

Thanks!

put an order in with AFK for some oem parts. Some needs and some wants. In addition to whats pictured, picked up another set of new floor mats. The car already has a new set in it but it wont hurt to have back ups
