Default 97 Type R #54 - Finally Rebuilding it with some custom carbon

Well my car was wrecked back in February and I am just now getting some free time to work on it.

So before my computer crashes again and I lose all my pics I figured I would show them off here
here is how is showed up after the body shop tried to steal my parts
story here
https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=2241445

So I picked up a JDM front end and put it on a few months ago.

I moved it to my composites shop and tarted the whole sanding process

holy carbon roofs!!!!!!!!!!

Now I am just deciding whether or not to put a carbon or kevlar roof on. haven't decided yet but I made 3 to see how they all would look

If the caR was mine and I wanted to do something like that to it, I'd go Kevlar.

I'm not really a fan of white and cf, but that is probably because I'm a idiot.

Made a little more progress, I have been busy everyday making my carbon roofs. I think it is getting painted this upcoming Thursday.

And I have decided against a carbon roof, at least for now.

And I found out that the car doesn't have a salvage title (because I threw such a fit with USAA) and I am kicking myself in the butt everyday for doing the JDM conversion.

I might change it back in a few years, or the day I finish school

Some people have been coming by and dropping cars off for me to make molds of, and when I woke up this morning I realized there were a Ton of cars that don't belong to me outside.

this is the nicest DA I have ever seen

Some Mazda's that showed up last night, kinda cool, I guess. they are both turbo

Good luck on your build.

I personally know the guys with the mazda's, the one with the orange is a good friend of mine.

I guess I will get to see your work with cf in a few days when he gets his car back.

By chance do you ever go out to the meets in dublin?

I am normally down in SLO, so I don't ever make many meets.

quick update, I finished with all the bondo and the body in now straight.
I have started taping everything off and am going to have it painted on thursday.

I can't wait, I will have my car back!!
