Nice process on the build bro !! i love it and my friend also did a job with spray cans and SHEESH!! i was very impressed by it he wet sanded it and it came out almost as if it was in a booth lol. but keep it up bro looking good

Yea i plan on wet sanding/cut/polishing it eventually. For how much time and money went into it im happy for sure. It comes down to it being a $800 car i just wanted to have some fun with. Need it to tie me over for a couple years until my lease is up on my fusion and i move onto a new project (Thinking S2000 )

That rear shelf area is pretty cool, did you consider building the sub into your wooden structure so it can hide under the carpet?

Yea i debated doing this, but wanted it to be removable if need be. Also didn't want the sub to get wrecked if i put stuff on the rear platform.

Update #8

Well finally got all the suspension parts i needed in, decided to throw them in the other day.
Removed the old coilovers, surprisingly took maybe 20 minutes.

First surprise was the old coils were function & Form Type Ones.


Not sure how old they were but the rear passenger coilover was pooched.

Got the Progress CS-2's from the UPS airport dispatch!
Layed it all out and started the assembly.


Assembly was very easy, ended up getting some new Moog top hats as well.
I must say the progress coilovers were a very high quality, all inclusive package. Came will all the nuts/washers/bushing etc needed.



New vs Old



Installation went fairly easy as well, i put them in at the recommended starting height. I then measured every corner and slammed it! The picture below i have 7 threads left in the front and 17 left in the back.
They recommend a measurement from the center of your wheel to fender to be 11.5" - 12.5".
I ended up at 11" at this height, so ill be bumping it up maybe an inch. The previous owner of the wheels for some reason put 35's in the front and 45's in the rear.
Once i get new tires (getting 40's) everything will sit a lot better i'm hoping.





Unfortunately i got a little too excited and i went too low, my exhaust was scraping every little bump when i went for the initial test drive.
I will be raising it a bit until i can find a height that is a little more practical.

Overall i must say the progress cs-2's ride very nice, even when the car was slammed.
Not bouncy at all, not too stiff either.

I went with the 450/350 spring rates, glad i did!

*Update #9*

Haven't posted any updates in a while, didn't have a lot left i wanted to do really. Just been enjoying the car this summer, lots of car cruises and meets so far!

I did do a few things however worth posting.

Painted rims:
(Forgot to tape valve stems) *facepalm*




Also painted the center caps and put on honda stickers. Turned out pretty good for the $.





Then i decided my headlights sucked so figured id do a retrofit. The led signals blink amber but stay white when not blinking.

Update #10

Haven't posted any updates in a while as i've had the Civic sitting for the winter. I did however get some parts in, so i redid the interior finally.

First step was to rip the carpet out and the interior panels apart.





I then picked up my fancy CTR carpet and door panels and threw those in!



Sprayed all the panels and the dash to match.



Picked up a Skunk 2 **** and extension.



Threw a suede wheel in and a couple (Air/fuel & Tach) gauges just for show. Kinda cheasy but meh the car was for fun so why not!



Lastly i ordered some LED Tails as my current ones were very dingy. Still have to figure out the wiring on them as they seem to light up as if the brakes are on at all times.




Next i have ordered OEM lips and side skirts, once those are in I will mock them up and paint them. Also bought new tires i need mounted, then i can finally throw in the camber kit and dial in the suspension properly!

Yea i was a little torn on the tails but they looked OEMish and i love the E46 M3 looking LED's, so i figured id give them a go!

What did you spray the interior panels with?

Scrubbed everything down with a scotch pad, then cleaned it all with wax n grease remover. Used Dupli-color Vinyl paint, with a adhesion promoter before hand.

Update #11

Ok so i have spent an incredible amount of time on my Civic lately, and have not had time to post much. Ill try to get everything caught up in this post.

Firstly i finally pulled the trigger on a motor!
Fully rebuild B18C1
- ARP Head Studs
- New OEM pistons and rods were acid bathed
- All new seals and OEM color coded bearings
- Stage 2 clutch & lightweight flywheel
might be more done, but basically a full rebuild.



First step was to pull the D16, didn't take too long really only hiccup was a stubborn axle nut. Everything else came out fairly easily,



Now that the engine bay was empty it was time to clean everything up and wire tuck.
I Tucked as much of the wiring as i could under and around the subframe and fenders.
Also deleted the power steering to clear even more space up, and get that racecar feel :p
I then painted the bay and under the hood black, and 2k cleared it all to keep it easy to clean.



Once the bay was ready i prepped the motor for the swap and transferred over my D16Y8 wiring harness.
I had to extend a few wires and change out the IAT sensor plug for the B18 one, for the most part it was quite easy to swap over. It was then time to put the motor in!
With no hoist leveler and doing this all solo this part could have went smoother.
After about 2 hours of trying i finally got the motor in and bolted up. After it was in i could hook up the wiring, throttle cable, header, axles, and shift link.



I then spent two weeks figuring out issues with broken wires/plugs/sensors, after a ton of diagnosing and work i got the car running almost perfect.
No CEL's or issues whatsoever when driving, however it still has a high idle on cold start until its fully warm.
If i turn the car off at that point and back on it will idle at 900ish, which was good enough for now. Ive spend over 20 hours trying to fix the idle and nothing seems to work.

Last but not least i couldn't resist and added underglow, it was a quintessential mod of the 90's i loved so i figured why not on my 90's hot hatch.
