Townsend Bros. H2B Adapter Plate... Its 6/1/05 are you shipping product????
I just figured I would start a thread in referance to an email that Seth Townsend (Bserious) responed too. I and I'm sure many others are interested in the availabilty, quality, and overal performance of this suposed kit. So for those of you that are ordering, plan on ordering, or have any prior dealings (good or bad) w/ Quartersports Drag Products, Seth Townsend, and/or the H2B kit please post your experiences.
OK on w/ the emailed response (I am leaving out the quoted prices. I dont want involed in the BS) ...
"All kits will be available June 1st, 2005. This response should answer the majority of the questions everyone has asked.
Our H2BTM kit allows you to combine an H-series engine with complete manual B-series drive train. You retain the use of the B-series flywheel, clutch, starter, intermediate axle, axles, and shift linkage making the installation very simple.
The core of the kit is a 6061 aluminum CNC adapter plate that secures the engine and transmission together. The engine adapter plate works in conjunction with a flywheel spacer, intermediate axle mount, an engine mount adapter, and custom fasteners.
A few essential modifications are required in all of the kits. You must shave the rear of your H-series block to create clearance for the B-series intermediate axle. Your frame rail must be notched to clear your OEM pulley system. OEM Hood clearance also becomes minimal and will require you to space the rear hinges 1.5 inches.
Each model kit requires a specific OEM engine mount. The 1996-2001 Civic and the 1990-1993 Integra kits use the OEM chassis engine mount. The 1992-1995 Civic and 1994-up Integra kits use a 1994-up GSR engine mount. The 1988-91 Civic/CRX kits require the use of either your bolt-in-kit engine mount or an OEM 1990-1993 Integra engine mount, but with more depth in fabrication.
There are numerous bolt-in-kits for the 88-91 Civic/CRX chassis, each varying the B series location. Our solution is to supply the 88-91 kits with a driver’s side engine mount, oversized and un-fabricated, which will require cutting and welding to match your application.
The 1988-1991 Civic/CRX’s and 1990-1993 Integra front crossmembers must also be replaced with aftermarket pieces to relocate the radius rods. We will also have these available.
The pricing is as follows:
QS004 1996-up Honda Civic [EK] Kit $xxx
QS003 1992-1995 Honda Civic [EG] Kit $xxx
QS003 1994-up Acura Integra [DC] Kit $xxx
QS002 1990-1993 Acura Integra [DA] Kit $xxx
QS001 1988-1991 Honda Civic/CRX [EF] Kit $xxx
Please feel free to email me back if I have still not answered all of your questions. Also check out our website at http://www.quartersportsdrag.com. We will have a page up shortly detailing the installation.
Thank you for your inquires,
Seth Townsend"

i just got off the phone with seth and he said all of the kits were sold by 3pm today. he is working on getting the second batch out by end of next week, but he says not to worry as he do his best to make the kits as readily available asap. I am also waiting on a kit, but funds need to come in first. hope this helps out.

That is correct. The second batch will be completed by the 12th.
If what's posted above doesn't answer all of you questions feel free to email me.
This coming Battle in Fontana should have a few racers sporting the kits.

So if I understand this correctly I can use standard b-series mounts for the h22 w/ b-series tranny?
Makes it a little easier to swallow the price of the kit and new tranny if I can sell my $500+ mount kit and $1000 transmission.

Re: (DarkKnight1)
So is this a bolt in product or do you ned access to a welder for it to work. I see it states welding on your crx's/ef's. What about the EG's and EK's?

Re: (Blind Fashion)
EF's require welding.... Why you ask?... Because of all the numerous bolt-in-kits on the market. Our goal was to make a kit available to ALL EF owners, not just owners of one particular kit.
The EG, EK, DC, and DC kits are all pre-fabricated (no welding).
