Default Titan Motorsports Port and Polish Dyno Test

Just got word today that we are going to be able to offer some very informative dyno graphs coming up shortly. Ed's Racing Heads has agreed to do a port and polish job on a spare head that we have. The only change to the car will be the port and polish job so we can once and for all prove what kind of power gains can be realized from a simple port and polish job. The same valvetrain, cams, valves etc will all be used between the two heads so the port and polish job will be the only variable. Here is the engine setup that we will be testing on:

- 1.8l gsr block
- .025” overbore integra type r pistons
- oem 3 layer headgasket
- integra type r head
- integra type r intake manifold
- accel 255cc injectors
- overbore civic si throttle body
- injen short ram intake with filter removed
- b&m fuel pressure regulator
- titan motorsports cam gears
- jun type II intake cam
- integra type r exhaust cam
- chipped p28 ecu

We will be sending a B16 head to have the port and polish work done as opposed to the integra type r head that is on the car now, but our reasons for doing this are to firstly save time and we really don't think there will be much of a difference between the stock flow of both heads so the power gains will be equivalent and a fair evaluation.

Let me know if you guys have any comments

and a huge thank you to Ed at Ed's Racing Heads - 610-529-7028

I will be making some more baseline runs next weekend and will post them as they become available - hopefully we will have the ported and polished head back in about 2 weeks or so to put on the car and show the gains of porting and polishing.

Sweet. You guys are doing a good job of coming up with ideas to test so that everyone can have an unbiased visual aid to go by.

Oh and I would'nt mind sending my spare B16 head to test with hehe.

Great idea, although you really should be prepared to do at least a little tuning because the new head will probably flow a lot more air and run leaner, necessitating some fuel tuning.

last baseline i had on the engine was 182 hp and 132 torque - i am going to make some more runs in the next week or so to make sure this is still accurate - the head is leaving out tomorrow and hopefully we will have it back within two weeks so not long at all to see the results

haha, supra's are too easy to work on - need more power, just turn up the boost, all motor cars are where the real fun is at

yeah of course it won't just be a direct bolt on - we will make a bunch of runs with tuning in between so we will be able to achieve max hp and torque with both setups - unlike the header test this test will allow us a lot more time to play with the settings on the engine to achieve max power

Good idea The next step would be a head porting shootout. That would obviously involve much more time and effort. And getting the head porters of the Honda world to participate might be a little tough-some of them seem a little shy about this kind of thing

You guy's are doing great work. Next you should do a turbo test. T3 vs t3/t4e vs. t3-60-1 vs. Holset HX35 vs. SC61!
