CAM GEAR ADJUSTMENT HELP!
Hey I have a 1991 all motor b16 ef. Heres the specs
B16A Block-CTR PCP Pistons, stock rod, cl bearings' arp rod/main cap bolts' lightend crank pulley, fidanza 7.5lb flywheel.
B16B Head-full race ported, 9angle valve job, BC springs&retainers, stage 3 comp cams number 57300 skunk2 cam gears, obx intake manifold, obx 70mm throttle body with omni power tps stock map sensor on throttle body, spoon header 4 2 1 to turbo muffler from autozone sits under my shift linkage, h22 obd1 330cc jdm if I'm correct b16 transmission casing with type r 4.90 final drive internals stage 3 act clutch and pressure plate.
Was dyno tuned but at that time the dizzy, alternator, tps was bad I had to bad injector clips and they were backwards lol I had wires being shorted out I made 183whp 137tq I should make 200whp and 140tq when I retune which brings me to why I'm here. I want some ideas on what a good cam gear setting would be to try till I get the money to retune. Thanks in advanced I appreciate any advice giving I have always gotten my answers from honda tech

Re: CAM GEAR ADJUSTMENT HELP!
If you don't know what the valve-to-valve clearance is for a given cam gear setting, you are playing with fire and could do catastrophic damage to your motor.
But if you want to move the gears: advancing the intake and retarding the exhaust will typically boost power every, particularly in the midrange.

Re: CAM GEAR ADJUSTMENT HELP!
Ok I had it +3int +3exh for a while so then last night I tryed +2int 0exh it had more lower end and midrange power but I couldn't get it to hold a idle with out dying. Do I need to advance or retard ignition timing?

Re: CAM GEAR ADJUSTMENT HELP!
Your tuner will decide and tune for the best cam settings. Once it is all finalized and locked in dont mess with the cams anymore. As Rocket said is you dont know what your P2V clearance is then you are risking bending valves. Those are already really nice numbers for a B16 especially is you have not touched the bore at all. A B16 that is making some good TQ NA is hard to achieve.
