Skunk2 IM Owners with GSRs. New Intake?
To ppl with the s2 im, did you have to buy a new intake since i hear the manifold sits higher than the stock gsr manifold. Or did you just make it fit, thanks in advance.

The TB will sit in the same spot where a ITR or LS manifold would sit. YOu might be able to get the GSR intake to work but it will have an unnessasary bend on it.
Buy an AEM ITR 3.0in CAI to compliment your new manifold.

If you have purchased a SKunk 2 manifold for a GSR, then it will fit. You will have to purchase a throttle cable bracket or fab something up.
If your GSR is relativetly stock, I would stay away from slapping on a Skunk 2 intake manifold. You will lose all your power down low and in the midrange. Furthermore, that manifold isn't designed for your head, although it will fit and work, it isn't optimum for that head.

what other mods do you have? If you don't have or plan on installing aftermarket cams, the manifold is a waste of money and time. I have two gsr's and 1st one i installed the sk2 i.m. without cams, it ran like crap. Slower than the stock i.m. My second gsr, i installed some blox type b cams first, then installed the i.m. Felt some difference after the i.m. installation even with just a chiped ecu with a custom basemap prom

So the S2 IM is a bad idea if you have a mildly modified GSR motor? I was planning to buy it but I was told the same thing, that I would lose all my low end and mid range power...I kinda dont want that.....would using Skunk 2 or CTR cams with the OEM GSR manifold be good enough?

I lost low end by adding the skunk2 intake manifold, but gained more horsepower in the topend compared to the stock gsr unit; its a trade off for sure, but I was much happier with the gains I got from the skunk2 intake manifold especially when I added my skunk stage 1 cams
