Default Running a 2.25" pipe with 2" muffler, bad idea?

I have a ek with a jdm b16 swap and currently im running 2.25" custom piping with a 2.5" magnaflow muffler. Its too loud for me so i wanna go stock, my girlfriend has a 2002 civic ex and she wants my muffler. Im thinking of just swapping and using her muffler on my car (its 2" however). I could spend $150 and get a type r muffler which is also 2". Is it worth getting a type r or should i just use hers, will it make any difference at all? i.e type r muffler might have better flow?

Info is appreciated...

Why would you bottleneck your piping?

Im not too sure what the magnaflow is called, it looks almost stock, has 2 small tips in the center of the canister (front abd back) same size...coming out about 3"...

Hybrid -> so technically you are saying even if i get the type r (which is 2") il still be bottlenecking my piping? The type r has great flow and it is designed for a 195hp 1.8l motor with more torque than my b16, so im sure it will not slow me down. In fact il have better backpressure and my car will be better up to 4,000 rpms. I might SLIGHTLY sacrifice top end but nothing noticable.

Now my question goes back to the ex muffler, im wondering will it be as good as the type r? Is it worth spending $150 for a type r...or will the ex muffler be just as good?
