lsvtec whp
I have helped build an Lsvtec motor which put down about 170whp using stock parts except for the i/h/e. Now my question was, does that sound about right for most of you who have also built this motor using stock parts or do most of you get alot lower numbers?
Some people keep telling me that a stock gsR is faster and stronger then a lsvtec and I know for a fact from my own experience thats not possible, but i just wanted to see how its been for you guys

Re: lsvtec whp (SiR99)
Stock parts as in.. PR3, P30, P72, P73, PCT parts? Or perhaps a combination of the 5? lol
LSVTEC is stronger than a GSR. Think about it. Both engines have the same bore, except one engine has the longer R/S Ratio. LSVTEC wins.

Re: lsvtec whp (SiR99)
My simple oem ls/vtec makes 192whp and 136tq. Full setup is listed in my sig. The only non-stock internals that I am using are portflow valvetrain and crower chromoly retainers. As long as you build an LSV properly you should be able to make more power than a stock GSR swap. Don't use the the stock ls pistons for AM, they are a waste of time.

Re: lsvtec whp (SiR99)
it varied, one pull went 169Whp, and another would get around 172 whp. It was a b18b with a b16a2 head, we couldnt get a c5 head , but its okay. Thanks for all the replies I really appreciate it.

The best thing for you to do is use the H-T search function and check out some of the other members setups. This way you'll get a better idea of what parts are needed to put together a strong and reliable LSV motor. This topic has been covered alot so you'll find lots of info.

Re: lsvtec whp (SiR99)
the thing is Iv already done the conversion and it was succesful, so i replied to a post about a guy asking about an ls/vtec vs a gsr, and I said the ls/vtec puts down more power. Then a bunch of people started posting and trying to prove me wrong. I dont know what world these people live in but why would anyone think a stock gsr, puts down more power then a ls/vtec? Theres a reason why people do the conversion.
Heres the link to the thread
https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=1884908
they keep bringing up the fact that the ls/vtec is only revving to 6800 rpm, but i already stated that there would be no point to that and if it were to rev to 8200 it would definately put down more whp then a gsr.
