problem revving past 5000rpm on B18C, like fuel cut off, tach bounces
The problem happened at some point when I was doing a track day last Saturday. Nothing dramatic happened, it took me a couple turns to figure out what was going on then I limped home. Drove it 300 miles this week, seems pretty normal until 5000+ rpms when it gets a little sluggish and then 6500ish when it runs out of steam and flounders.
I put in a bottle of Redline fuel system cleaner, a new OEM fuel filter; didn't help.
I'm running a Phearable.net chipped OBD1 ECU in an OBD2B car. Engine is a B18C engine that should rev to 8800. Not getting any CEL.

Had the same problem with my set up about 1 month ago. My ECU had a lot of corrosion and build up from moisture and so did my cable from ECU to my Hondatta s200. Replaced the corroded cable and cleaned the ECU. Also needed a retune for other reasons, hasn't happened again yet. I have launch control and it was stuck on that 4500 RPM instead of my 8800 limit. I would recommend opening your ECU and checking for any kind of crap that may be in there.

just checked the dizzy: rotor set screw came loose! caused some damage in the inner cover. so the rotor was loose the whole time, causing the ignition to be wacky. I can see why at 5000+ rpms it was causing that behavior.
