Default 14 k rev

So theres a myth going around my town that a friend of a friend built a motor that can rev to 14k. suposedly its a b16 thats been cryofrozen for a couple months, then he "fully built it". he apparently spent 7000 on it. Is there any truth to this?

i dunno i rev my lsvtec to 22k rpms but i had NASA build the block for me so i guess its possible if it was frozen like Ted Williams was .

jk man i just dont see that motor making power to 14k its kind of pointless if it doesnt.

Carboniting parts is the only way to get to 14k.

Formula 1 engines rev well over 14k so it is possible. This is what your friend of a friend of a buddies friends B16 would sound like.

If you are asking if it is possible to build an engine to make it to 14k then the answer is yes. Do I believe that cryo treating and $7k into a b16 would do it and make power at 14k then No.

I don't think anyone is going to build a stock stroke B16 to handle 14K. An F1 at 19K see's -9,823 g's. At 14K the B16 will experience -10,939 g's. That's over 1,000 g's more...

You can get to 12K on springs.

Just to clarify. I never said anything about building a stock stroke B series engine. I was simply stating that it could be done. I don't think anyone would build a B16 to handle 14k ether

Well if that's all you were trying to get at, then it's possible to build an engine to 40K rpm(nitro RC). Honda has had a factory motorcycle(RC 114) that can rev to 20K since the 60's. I can't find any video's of the older bike, but here's a video of a newer CBR250 revving to 20K

Haha I can't believe that you would even post this.

Although I hate arguing with people when they think they're right when they're really wrong.
This kid that goes to my school said he's sponsered by Monster (energy drinks) for wakeskating. Bull ****. I just nod and smile.
