Degreeing camshafts & adjustable cam gears
I've been researching on how to degree camshafts and i have a question... which may or may not be stupid
What's the point of degreeing a cam if you have adjustable cam gears and you play with the cam positioning while tuning??

its essential to degree cams if you are running agressive cams and/or high domed pistons. all adjusting the gears on the dyno does is to see where it makes the best power. degreeing them is setting them were the manufact. recomends for the best v2v and p2v clearances.
and even to adjust the gears alot on the dyno one should check v2v clearances when the head is off and clay the motor. depending on how radical the setup will determine how much you can adjust the gears

I don't quite understand this either. As soon as you change the settings of your cam gears on the dyno doesnt that undo the process you went through to degree the cams in?
