Re: BONE STOCK b20vtec setup
this dude here has the same set up as u just wrote up. In a daily stock ek hatch, with full interior on 25" slicks ran 12.9 best time. hp was 200 i believe. My tuner tuned the car and theres videos of it on you tube.

there is a guy here that ran 12s on a DD STOCK internally b20vtec in an EG. He had a JDM ITR header, victorX mani, and tuned it made 180ish to the wheels.

Re: BONE STOCK b20vtec setup
dont just run out and get the highest compression piston you can find like so many people run out and do. compression is a very small factor in making power. the right matching parts is more important then compression. you wanna match compression with cam selection along with the fuel you plan on using. if its a daily driver running on pump gas 11.5:1 compression max is highly recomended for cars running pump gas. although some run higher compression on pump gas it is actually pointless. the higher the compression the more ignition and cam timing will have to be retarded to run safley on pump gas which accounts for a loss in hp. so typically weither you run 11.5:1 or 12.5:1 you will make the same power with the same part selection. its only a 3-4 hp diffrence per point of compression, meaning if a motor with 11:1 compression makes 200 hp the same motor with say 13:1 compression and same exact parts and tune will probably make 206-208 hp and will have no room for error. in some cases the 11:1 motor will make more power due to the ability to run agressive advanced ignition and cam timing while the 13:1 compression motor cant

Re: BONE STOCK b20vtec setup
O ok I understand. My build will be a DD an track car. Just something to haves blast in honestly. So I'll prob just rock 11.0-11.5:1 compression then. My goal is 200whp b20 vtec. I hope the blox cams will allow for that. Running ls rods and crank. Will there be any benefit?

yes they are to big, he just took them on off his boys turboed car for haha's n he ran a 12.9 with them instead of the 23" slicks. He came out the whole with a very good 60' and didn't spin at all. It all comes down to how good you can drive, gearing and suspension. He hit 200hp tuned on chrome with all that u listed up there.

Re: BONE STOCK b20vtec setup
yea 23" slicks are perfect for a stock to mild all motor setup. H2B and K's we need 24" theres just alouta low end torque, but ull be good i have the same type r tranny with lsd and it hooks real good off the line.
