Why did you choose ITR pistons over either p30 or pr3 (B16) pistons? First the ITR pistons will net a slightly lower compression than the either variant of the B16 pistons, and they also necessitate the small end of your rods to be machined to fit.

Re: -->All motor Daily LS Build!<--
Well i found a deal (to me at least..) so i grabbed them. This was a budget build also, I didn't plan on doing this till later and money is short. So picking up BNIB ITR pistons/Rings/Pins for 120 doesn't seem to bad. I was thinking of shaving the head a little to give a little more CR. I don't mind shaving 1mm or so off the rods to make them fit, My buddy has a shop so stuff like that is free.

when the time and funds come, go for the brian crower st2 cams. i have them and they rip good above 5000 rpms as well as i see some real good #s coming from them.
while the motor is apart, maybe you should throw the aftermarket valvetrain in, to avoid potentially having to tear the head back off later on.
side note: your engine and the bay are beautifully clean. im super jealous

I did this, and changed the oil+filter after the initial startup then after 20mi,50mi,100mi,500mi,1000mi,etc on conventional and everything is fine + good compression on all 4.

Re: -->All motor Daily LS Build!<--
IMO, if you plan to change the filter along with each oil change at first then I would just get what ever is the cheapest until you finally break it in, then get what you would normally if different.

Re: -->All motor Daily LS Build!<--
Here is a good article of breaking in an engine http://www.cccylinderheads.com/main.html go to tech, then 85x89 build and it has some good info on the break in process as well as an oil recommendation.
I really think that more people use Crower 403 or 404 series of cams than there are users of Brian Crower stage 2 cams. I have never heard about the Brian Cower's but I have heard that the Crower cams are excellent, and this holds true by the number of people running them and making good numbers with them, plenty of dynos in the non VTEC thread.
