ACL Main Bearing
Are all ACL main bearings for B series engines the same? I feel they may not be. I used a b18a main bearing set for my b18c5. From what I understand the ACL bearings are roughly a honda green bearing. As far as my crank bearings go, the required colors are: brown, brown, green, green, and black. The colors are a maximum of 2 sizes away from green on the honda bearing chart. So, they should still be within spec. When I plastigauge I am right at .025mm for the main bores that require a brown bearing. I installed the main caps, and the crank would not spin. If indeed the ACL Main bearings for B series are all the same, do you have any ideas of why they are not within spec? And perhaps why the crank will not spin.
Hopefully that made sense, its late im tired, will give corrections tomorrow.

BTW, my motor the crankshaft came from was running fine, just decided to do a performance rebuild.
And I followed the helms manual.

Re: ACL Main Bearing (MiKE 76...)
Arrows on the main caps pointing toward the oil pump? Using oil, not moly lube on your main bolts? Do you have your old mains...stick them back in and see if it spins again.

That is your problem. You cannot use moly lube on main bearing bolts. Clean the bolts and clean the moly out the bolt holes. You must use regular oil as a lubricant. You have put too much force on the main caps and they are distorting.

Re: ACL Main Bearing (Mad Cow Disease)
I used, cleaned the moly out with brake cleaner, and used motor oil. 5-30. The Acl's dont clear, and the OEM do fit, so I will be using OEM's for the mains, and ACL's for the rods.
Thanks for your help guys.
