Yeah, I'm sticking with the current transmission. I'm really happy with how the vehicle performs(ed).
but I currently have this bizarre surging idle problem.
I threw up a help thread in the Integra forum. despite some suggestions, no change.
here's the link:

I dunno if anyone who may read this has ever had a similar problem.
Worth a shot, I guess.

Nice so far. Don't let anyone talk you out of doing the build the way you want to (even though you obviously aren't going to). It's all personal preference. I'm sure you'd regret it later on if you changed something that you wanted in the first place.

The last thing people want when they post their builds is for someone else to tell them they are wasting their time and money. You are allowed to build your motor anyway you want, why try to impose what you think he should do when it isn't your time or money. I have never understood why people do this...
Good luck with the rest of the build man!! Is the car going to be a daily driver or just a weekend car?

sweet build, but if you could have gone back, and without limit of price, which cams would you have picked?
and why did you decide to stick with the oem injectors?

Re: (slowtegkauai)
okay, so here it is.
dyno results:
VIDEO LINK (if its set as private lemme know, i'll relink it)
i'm pretty happy considering the current setup. i know there are "the number ******" who will say they were expecting more. but consider all the room for improvement...
on this build i did not have:
any headwork, whatsoever other than a new valvejob. i'm sure a CC worked head would be good for a few ponies.
did not even start to play w/ cam gear settings(time constraint)
intake manifold was not port matched to the head
i'm still running power steering and a catalytic converter.
3-layer head gasket(could use 2 or 1 layer to bump compression up a little)
my ITR knockoff header is alright, but certainly not top of the line.
currently running 2.75" intake, not a 3"
no velocity stack
and of course, i could always bump the exhaust up to 3".
so, as you can see. plenty of room for improvement, as such - i'm more than pleased w/ the results.
i wish i had dyno'd it before i modified it so see the gain, but Dennis(the tuner) said that stock, tuned LS's typically put down ~105whp on his dynojet without bolt-ons. i'll take that with a grain of salt, but i think almost + 50whp over stock isn't bad for my first build.
and i was so happy, i went and whored out my teg.
thats that.
leave feedback if you feel so inclined.

Re: ~ B18a1 NON-VTEC Build Thread ~
Great build man, I have a built block b18a1 and the only thing on the head as of now is port matched to skunk2 IM and obx header. I was investigating into either an ls/vtec or built b18a1. I'm going to go with b18a1 head. Hoping to see about 150hp after the head is done, I do plan on doing quite a bit of the machine work on it. It dynoed at 128 on basemap so it shouldn't be to hard, plus that was on 9.5-1 pistons. It will give me more power till my nitrous comes on. Anyways I'm rambling again, Great Build! I enjoyed reading it and seeing your progress!
