In regards to searching success, I always use the advanced search, and as recommended by the boards change the "Sort Results By" to "Relevance". This was in the readings when they changed the site over a bit ago (was highlighted at the top of every forum iirc), so everyone should know about it if they actually read a little and stopped complaining that the search feature sucks. Yes, you can still find information, and no, it is not that difficult; I find things I am looking for all the time with minimal effort.

I'd just like to add, you can't run ctr pistons in a gsr, they hit. Had a customer come in, and the domes touch, after a while this will wear and cause major issuses.

Putting CTR Pistons in a gsr block with a b16 head, isn't running ctr pistons in a gsr, retards.

That is all, we need to stick to serious information.. I'll be the first to admit, i don't know all, but i do know a bit more then a fair share and have real world experience.
After talking to a lot of people who seem to get the wrong idea about my attitude, because you can't dictate tone over the internet, I've claimed down.. i hope to get more respect and contribute more as the time goes by.. and when funds allow me to.

I do like the idea though, that when you click on the "new thread" button, it instead brings you to the search function. You must then do a search before being allowed to create a new thread. This restriction can be removed once a user has a certain amount of posts, or maybe even a certain amount of searches. Im not sure if this type of data collection is even possible though. This would also encourage users to post, that combined with active users that report "bullsh*t" posts, would force users to post contributing material to a thread for the reward of being able to finally create a thread of their own without the search-first restriction.

I feel directing reports to the two of you will be of great importance to this forum. Knowing that the reports were sent to all mods and not jus the A/M mods completely explains why reports are being lost and things have been going downhill.

This is a great idea and I hope it works, even if just a little.

Unfortunately you're up against people who are too lazy to search and
realize that typing up a new thread and waiting to be spoon fed answers
takes less effort (this is absolutely out of control in the eg/ek section).
These same people don't know/don't care that their redundant and
sometimes annoying posts are polluting a site that longtime users cherish.

The crazy part is searching the net (and not just H-T) through Google
will answer the vast majority of repeated questions posted on this site
with little wait time.

A lot of it's going to be.. to the people that have been here, to the people who post here on a regular.. All of us just being on the same page, Knowing what goes on here, what kind of stuff we want in here and Having a positive attitude about everything.

We've got our own Classifieds thread.. just for this section. It's obvious the ''all motor'' crowd isn't extremely big, but with combined knowledge of everyone that posts here.. it's crazy how legit this specific forum could be.

I realize I was fourteen once and I was so dumb at the time, had many questions.. really anxious..so I understand, but at the same time.. Back in the old days.. When you flamed somebody.. you didn't just ''flame'' them, you flamed them.. then educated them.

Also when I'm locking topics of all these repeated sections, It wouldn't hurt for somebody to throw the occasional link out there with a legit thread to something they could be looking for.. Just to let them know.. The information is indeed out there.

I totally agree. As long as everyone kinda stands behind the quality over quanity in posts and thread creating, the forum will get better.

But there are some times when I suggest for people to search, but they keep posting and posting, that a "lock" button would come in extremely handy haha. A snowball quickly turns into an avalanche around here

granted for the most part i find the NA section to be ok. but i also use the 92-00 sub forum and in comparision NA looks like already what your talking about, looks it still has plenty of junk that can be sifted out.

i'll be here more for learning than informing. i know some but nowhere near the older members. oh and until today i never knew what that little sign was for. and now it'll be used if needed.

I'm a new member, but I've been looking on Honda-Tech for years now and those guys posting that say "Well my sister's boyfriend's blah blah blah made 200whp with a intake and exhaust" or the famous "Which ebay header, turbo, intake, or whatever is better" are prime examples of why forums get bad reps 99% of the time. is your best friend.
