The problem is you bought HID's that you want to be yellow.
They take a 5000 kelvin bulb and put a yellow film on it. So it looks white/greenish/stupid. The HID color is too blue for the yellow film to mask. It just cuts right thru.
You could buy some yellow halogen bulbs....which have a yellow film on them as well....but since tungsten light is yellowish anyway, it looks yellow. I got yellow Hella bulbs on amazon. They're hella yellow...and I'm hella clever. They were on sale for $20 shipped.
Nokya is another good company for yellow light bulbs that are strikingly yellow.
Buy the 55 watt halogen bulbs. Don't buy the 100watt ones unless you want your wiring to catch fire.
I'm guessing you bought 55watt HID's? Also a mistake. 35W should be what you buy for HID's.

Yes. It's just a film. So they're going to look weird. Yellow halogens are the way to go. I think mine are the Hella Optilux. They're a pretty intense yellow on the ground and when you look at the car.

Halogen bulbs are probably going to be your best bet. But I've had good experiences with hids as well. I've also noticed that yellow bulbs with that purple-ish tinge to it sometimes affects the output too. If your looking to get that deep yellow lexus style look. Or maybe look into some fog capsules. They are really easy to diy and make at home if your feeling crafty.
