Oil leak on an element near oil filter
This question could apply to anyone i suppose. I have a 03 element 4wd and it is leaking a little oil near the filter it may be the filter which happens to be a fram but i made sure the old seal came off with the old filter and cleaned the surface. I also put new oil on the new filter over the seal. I am almost positive that it is a bad filter or seal on the filter but wanted to know if anyone had similar problems. As it is right now i am just going to drive it until the next oil change is due.

its not a faulty oil filter. you have to tighten the s.o.b like its a virgin pu$$y
lots of peeps have that same problem. just tighten it more

if you drive with a known oil leak, you are an idiot...sorry.
go take it in ASAP, have it checked out. take it to a shop, or HONDA better yet. because if they install it, and it still does it, you can blame them.

Hey I was wondering if you had this problem fixed yet. I was having the same problem with my Prelude and it ended up being a seal that needed to be replaced behind the enginer oil cooler, which is the part the oil filter sits on. Supposedly this rubber seal goes bad around 60,000 miles and is one of the parts that is replaced when you take it into the dealer for that mileage inspection. Well the part costs about $3.00 and should take an hour or less to fix.

If it's not the filter, I would bring it back to the dealer. That thing should be covered by your warranty.
