Odyssey HP Drop from 2005 to 2006
The 2005 Odyssey produces 255 HP (5750 RPM) and 250 lb-ft of torque (5000 RPM for LX and EX 4500 RPM for EX-L and Touring) from its 3.5 liter, 10:1 compression ratio engine. The numbers for the 2006 Odyssey LX and EX drop to 244 HP (5750 RPM) and 240 lb-ft of torque (5000 RPM for LX and EX 4500 RPM for EX-L and Touring) for the same displacement and compression ratio. Both model years run on 87 octane and have ULEV-2 emmisions.

As the rated fuel economy is unaffected, why would Honda lower these numbers? I have to wonder if the 2005s were rated too high, and the 2006 numbers were corrected.
I haven't checked other Honda and Acura models to see if this happened for other models.

It looks like the SAE standard SAE J1349 may be behind this decrease, which is not necessarily a real decrease. The standard supposedly changes the conditions for rating engine power.

Exactally, they measure HP differently now. So there is not a decrease, this is also true on all 06 Acura's from what I have seen.
