Default Help me with my 04 TL power steering pump please.

I have been having this problem for about 2 weeks.

When I go to start the car up in the morning or after it has been sitting for a while the power steering pump makes a weird high pitched whining noise.
I am not loosing power steering fluid out of the reservoir.
But there does seem to be a little bit of power steering fluid on the hose that heads toward the back of the motor.

Once the car warms up though the whining goes away.

Help. It makes my car sound like a Ford.

Oh, my real question is can I change the bearing for the pulley or do I have to change the whole pump?

their is a current power steering hose recall and the recall also includes the low side o ring so the pump will not suck air into the system. call you local Acura dealer and have the update completed.

make sure that the inlet hose o-ring at power steering pump is changed, you can ck yourself,10 mm wrench, take off bolt,o-ring should be a brownish color,if it is black,it was not changed and pump will make noise again and possibly fail, good luck.

it's all good just making sure they dont get confused as some people on here will take a car apart after been fixed and ask questions about the shape or color of something.

Haha..yeah make sure the o ring is orange. Its another way of acura covering their *** with noisy ps pumps especially the 04 model year. The factory is kicking back r/r pumps that have black o rings.

Basicially if the tech didn't replace the o ring he has to replace for free.

Wow the GR-8,man if you dont have the printout, you wont get paid, its like that.punch times,we use ero,so you have to put in all your notes or same, wont get paid.this can have its own write up.like i stated b4,lucky to have job, seems they want you to make mistake so they can let you go.thats why i say,do your best, cross the t's and dot the i's dont give them the ammo to go after you.this is the worst it's ever been, keep your heads up and hopefully the good guyz will survive.

dude its so stupid we have to write down the actual complaint word for word and the *** holes want us to say left side and not use L/S for like a vent of axle ect.its just a game their playing. so they will be back next month to see if were 100% compliant. they are holding a bundle about 2 awd tl"s worth

ahha.. the gr8 is siiiiccckk..

err not.

takes ten hours to do a test. but, besides. i have a battery with a dead cell beside my trash can. haha. we can use the old hand held testers for quick diag, if it says use gr8 then yea, find an open bay and let it test.

even on recalls now we have to write what we did, not just " tl ps hose recall" , we have to write, r/r feed hose o ring etc
