My boss has a 2006 Acura RL that has the Michelin run flats with the tire pressure monitoring system. These tires are ridiculously expensive and only available at Acura dealers. He wants to add an aftermarket wheel so he can fit a normally priced tire. The dealer told him that doing so would cause problems with the computer. I'm assuming they are meaning the TPMS system. Is there any way to bypass the TPMS?

BTW this RL also has the PAX system.

as long as the tpms sensors are installed you will be fine.
