Default 2004 Acura TL, issue, anyone else have this problem?

Our 2004 TL when sitting for a few hours parked, when we go to drive it you can hear a "1" clunking noise while moving 5 mph or so and goes away. It can also be felt when your foot is on the gas pedal. This happens pratically everytime.

Has it ever happened right after you started the car while in park?

negative, only when its outta park, in drive and accelerating to 10mph slowly. you will feel in in the pedal and hear it.

why is there a clunk noise and you can feel in in the gas pedal? its not a noise like abs systems in integras.

Ive heard a loud clunk in most newer Acura's upon first starting or driving. It comes form the A/C unit. Almost sounds like grinding a gear and shakes the whole car.

Yes, you can feel it through out the car. Sometimes also if youve been driving for a while and come to a stop. While your foot is on the brake, it will activate again and the car will jolt forward a tiny bit, but without the clunk noise.

been there done that, they said it was because of a loose item in the trunk, its still there even when we took out the item from the trunk, there tech's are idiots when it comes to noises. After that the service manger said its normal and all the 04's do it.

being an acura tech myself, i can assure you, rattle, noises etc, are extremely hard to diagnose. dont think they are idiots just b/c they cannot find the exact problem of a noise

I gotta say that the tech's at my acura dealership were not real helpful when i brought my CL-S in because of tranny issues, i told the guy (cant remember his name) that it was making a whining noise, and that over the last several months before the repair it got progressively worse...at first i was told it was just VTEC, i told them that was absurd, then i was told that it could possibly just be a heat shield on the engine causing the noise...but i had to explain it to him that it was mechanical, and if they drove it, they would most certainly hear it...well after debating it for 10-15min. one guy finally decided to take the car out with me, i told him to listen to the engine after 5K rpm's, he said "Man, you drive this thing that hard?" and i couldnt understand why that was relevant...but i said "Yes, i drive it upwards of 7K rpm sometimes..." he said "Wow, you really beat on this thing huh?" and i was like "No, not really, do you hear it?" and after hearing it for 5min. driving it up and down the highway, he finally said "Yup, i hear it...we'll get you a rental"

Such a pain...and then on the way back, it slipped on him...hahaha, so atleast he got to feel that...and the transmission had been in the car for all of about a day. Still love the car though...lol.

sorry if i offended you,
the ones that work at this dealer are idiots, if you can't find the exact noise don't blame it on something in the trunk, and then the service managers says something different.

a friend of mine worked at a dealership's service center...someone brought in a car that had constant rattling...it took almost every mechanic about 10 hours to figure out the genius of a owner had dropped some coins into the side of the seat somehow slid under the seat so that whenever the car ran, it would bounce around and hit the frame

not to say it's something like this that's causing the problem (esp if you can feel it in the pedals)...but like someone else said, rattles and the likes are hard to pinpoint

Dude calm down its fine. Acura customers have a reputation of being overly **** about sounds. I worked there for 4 years, Ive seen them all.

no need to go to a dealer unless its for normal maintnence or you seriously got a problem. Otherwise, the service department will blow you off.

Acura owners pay good money to be ****...and with a warranty, i want my car to drive just like it did when it was brand new (granted that i treat my cars well and take care of them)...when they dont, and there is something that i dont feel is right with it, im going to bring it to have it serviced, if its taking a service person out of his way to figure out that maybe something little happened, like some coins fell into something on the floor board...well hell, thats why he's paid. It makes no difference to me what kind of inconvenience service on my car takes on a service department, if theres not enough people to where EVERYONE is treated equally and they can help me regardless...hire more employees.
