06 TL rear brakes work, sorta.
I have an auto 06 TL with 173k miles on it, I know, a lot but it gets driven. As of late, the rear brakes stopped working.
It should have even wear on all 4 rotors, or at least pad-to-rotor wear on all 4 even if the fronts get used more than rear correct? Well it seems like the rears don't work at all because there hasn't been pad to rotor contact because it looks like the rotor hasn't been touched in months.
I bled the brakes to make sure my lines weren't clogged and I do get fluid all the way to the back. I then took the calipers off to inspect them, and when I took them off, a lot of rust/debris fell out of both calipers/pistons. They almost seem like they've been on the car for 20 years untouched. What I don't understand is the e-brake works when I engage it. But under normal driving, they don't work. Is there a recall on this or easy fix? The car does have a lot of miles, but it is only 6 years old still.
