you could go with a 215/55 16 but a 225/50 16 would be a better choice and probably handles better. the 225/50 16 is also probably the widest you can go with out having too much roll over on the sidewall. the stock size 205/55 16 has an over all diameter of 24.8 inches and so does the 225/50 16. the over all diameter of the 215/55 16 is 25.2. that's almost one inch taller than your stock. there may be rubbing. toyo tires carries this size in the proxes fz4, proxes t1-s and nitto tires nt450, nt555, and nt555r. i'm sure other tire manufactures have these sizes as well if you do not want to go with these. hope this helps, let me know what route you take.

so 225/50 16 would be the best size width wise and no rubbing problems. I will probably get these tires around december i will most likely get the kuhmos but if have some more money get the the bridgestones potenzas. thanks man

the misinformation shared in this forum is sometimes funny to watch....almost enticing enough to keep quiet and let darwin take his theory to work.

225s will rub for sure on the stock rims.

have you had first hand experience with the 225's rubbing? or are you just guessing? I have had 235's on my car with a 2.25 inch drop with out any rubbing even with hard corning and without any fender work. i'm not doubting your opinion but out of my own experience and knowledge of tires (given that i am an employee of a tire manufacturer) i dont see why the 225's would rub. if they do, then i am at fault and i apologize in advance for giving misleading info. but again, i have had 235/45 17 on a 17x9 rim with no rubbing or any problems and i do know some stuff about tires and sizing.

how do you know for sure they'll rub??

I have 225/50/16 on my stockies and they ain't rubbin.
had them on for at least 4 months now.

I'm using them for daily driving as well as autox and haven't had any problems with it. Also, a bunch of my rsx friends are using the same tire size and they haven't had a problem either.
