Icon2 Remote Central Locking Issues Ep4

Hey guys,

Tearing my hair out here, The central locking on the car has never worked and I've just been using the key to lock and unlock the car. However recently the locks been getting a bit sticky so thought I'd give reprogramming the fobs a go. I followed the civic keyless entry guide and true enough on the 4th stage of programming the locks cycle and enter into programming mode I press the lock button again and they cycle as they should, however the car doesnt seem to be remembering the code and the key fob still doesnt work.

I tried this with the door locked and as I press the lock button to enter programming (after the 4th cycle) the doors unlock! but then it forgets the code again! So the fob definately works and so do the sensors, it just forgets the code! begining to think my civics getting early onset dimentia.

Any help would be much appreciated almost forgot I have changed the batteries.

cheers

your doing this?

on hit button, off, on hit button, off, on hit button, off, on hit button, hear click hit button and its not remembering it? i vaguely remember a few years of civics needing a keyless entry module for the remote not working correctly...

yeah i was right. did a quick search through IN, last time i had one was about a year ago, the SB# is 05-025 part number is 08E51-S5D-1M102 for the security control unit hope this helps, without looking at the car and seeing what it does i'm pretty sure thats what it is was a fairly common problem a few years ago.
