So, in continuation with my other threads with my brother's EP3 K20a3 engine rebuild. We have fixed the coolant issue, fixed the idle/iacv issue. Now we keep getting a P 1259 code. If we drive the car for about 10-15 minutes the code will appear, and in its normal nature for the VTEC system malfunction code, it will rev limit you to 4,000 RPM. But if you shut the car off, and turn it right back on, the rev limiter goes away and the CEL stays on. Oil level is OK at this time as well. The solenoid/pressure switch did sit for a while off the engine, so not sure if it could get something inside like moisture that could cause it to malfunction after a while maybe?

I just got done taking the VTEC solenoid assembly off. The screen had some very small black specs in it, looked like dirt or something. I changed just screen out with another screen I had for a brand new gasket that was too big (aftermarket). Drove it for about 15-20 minutes. Drives great. Plenty of power, vtec hits. And then right as I was about to pull into my driveway, the CEL comes back on. Any ideas?
