K20/24 Swap

K20/24 Swap
Hey I've got an EP3 and I'm planning to run a K24 with a type s head. As far as performance what would be different between an Accord k24 and a TSX K24 since I plan on swapping the head?? And will all my accessories(ps, ac, etc) on my stock A3 work with the new motor? And will the new motor fit in place(since it's bigger) without modifications? And any other parts I might need besides the engine & tranny? Thanks!!!

Re: K20/24 Swap (Mrclutch)
Performance wise go with the complete tsx motor, almost the same as the type S head on there. But if you insist on the hybrid, do the k24a1 (crv) w/k20a2 (type s) head. You get the displacement with the least amount of modifications. The accord blocks need to change internals to work w/the head. and the tsx needs some fab to fit the a2 oil pump (which you def want to use). the Crv motor can use the A2 oil pump and stock internals w/out any mods. go this way..I am.

Yes...they use the same vtec engagement like in the bseries. almost like the difference between the ctr and itr b series motors...(almost) same thing but different displacement.

Re: K20/24 Swap (Mrclutch)
Ive been keeping my eyes out for one myself. Though in the end Ill likely just got with the k24a1 from the CRV with an A2 headswap. Save some money and all.
But as always, check the classifieds of RSXclub.com, EPhatch.com, k20.org, and here.
http://www.jhpusa.com has engine deals frequently, although they can be pricey.
Check your local junkyards. Let them know what you are looking for and build up a rapport with them. Doing the footwork will save you lots of money
