Help with oil level please!!!!
Hi, I've serached and searched but I can't quite find what I'm looking for. I just did an oil change today and I've filled it with 4.4Litres of oil into my TSX (Mobil 1 5w-30syn and mobil 1 oil filter). After that I started the engine to let it run for about 1 min then I shut it off. I checked the dipstick, it was dry. So I tired it again and it was dry again. So I've filled about another 1/2 Litre of oil and now it's right at between the "LOW" and "HIGH" mark. Has anyone experienced this before? Should I fill more???
Thank you so much
BTW: I didn't post over at the TSX forum cause that fourm is pretty slow!! And I believe there are A LOT of K pros out here. Thanks so much!!!

That sounds really weird, I do oil changes on these things on a regular bassis and I've never heard of anything like this, and 4.4 Litres is the right amount.
What I would do is just keep a very close eye on the oil. everytime you are about to take it out, check the oil, and when you get home or to a gas station check the oil. If it becomes very consistent (the oil level) then you are doing just fine.

you can run mostly any weight, they just recommend 5W30 because it's optimum viscosity for cold and warm climates. Warmer climates should use higher weights because it burns less than a lower weight oil.

Not true, the Type-S takes 5W30 because the engine needs more viscocity, and besides running a different oil viscocity won't hurt your car. My daily driven Accord runs on 10W30 (should be 5W30), but it tends to burn alot of oil, so I switched to a higher visc. oil to counteract it.
