DUI in RSX
I got a DUI in October 06. I wasnt drunk, it was actually the morning after. Hungover. Enough said im over it, now I just need to deal with it. Im 19. I will be getting my license back in October 18, 07. And pretty much my question is to you guys. My insurance is gona be around 340 a month, thats the cheapest I could find. Ive been quoted about 500-1000 a month its nuts and a lot of companies just turn be down right away when they know im 19, dui, RSX-S.
Would you pay $340 a month for insurance?
Basically were looking at 8 grand for 2 years of insurance. cuz imma have to drive to community college so until i get into state college with dorm, im driving.
I really plan on doing this, im making about 1200 a month as a part time server at a local italian joint. Am i stupid? haha because i just really love the rsx man dont wana drive anything else.
Ive looked at other cars and its really not that much cheaper, so to me its worth it to pay the extra.

Go to this thread and see what others are paying.......

Some pay a lot without any DUI. I'm 23 and pay $2000 per year, but that's no DUI. Goodluck

I would do that.

I don't think there is any way I'd ever pay $340/month for insurance on one car.
That's $4K per year. Just insane.
What do those ghetto places like safe auto and progressive what?

I pay just over $360 for a whole freekin year! (But then, I'm an old fart with a squeeky clean record) Although the type of vehicle you insure affects your premium, overall I think your record has more to do with the rate than anything else. If you stay out of trouble your rates should decrease with time. If I was your daddy I'd say park the damn thing for a year or two and take the g'dam bus. You'll save a butt-load of money. I realize that may not be a practical solution for you though.

I can't believe that even if your old, as you say. How old are you exactly to be paying $360 for a year with full coverage?

To be absolutely honest, if I were you, I'd probably mothball the Acura, and get something used and non-sporty, then drive that for the next 5 years. You'll save piles, and piles of loot.
