BASE RSX want to swap K20a or K24?
Hi everyone!
I'm back in the Honda game, I owned a 01 Prelude for about 2 years, then I bought a 2015 Ford Mustang GT, I bought a 03 Acura RSX Premium as a winter/daily driver because of Canadian weather haha I really love the RSX but I wish it had more power, I'm looking at doing a engine swap but not sure what engine to swap in and the cost efficiency of a K20a2 or a K24? Also would I need to upgrade my 5 speed to a 6 speed with a swap?
Thanks

Re: BASE RSX want to swap K20a or K24?
well from personal experience the k24 is fantastic to drive around every day in. i put a k24a2 in my base rsx last year and im quite impressed. it makes about155wtq from 2500-6000 rpm and i pretty much just have an intake and kpro on it. they might not pull up top as hard as a similarly modded k20 but with the tq the driveability is great you dont have to wind it out at all. all that and i still get 30ish mpg.
you can leave the 5spd in it i would get an upgraded clutch for sure. the rpm drop on the 2-3 shift with the 5spd is bad but the tq of the k24 picks up quickly.
