Air conditioning not working - no errors in diagnostics *Updated*
Just wondering what would be the next step in figuring out how to get my air working?
I did the diagnostics and there were no error codes, what is my next step?
Thanks.

Anyone? Just curious if I should try a $25 recharge kit with a gauge before potentially spending more serious cash at the repair shop.

just called auto zone to see if they had a AC gauge since I know they give free loaner tools but they dont have one. I know they come free with the recharge kit but I would rather not spend the $30 just to get the free gauge =/

hell you're lucky... in WI you can't buy frion. I think we are the only state that can't legally sell it. I drive to the next state and stock up on frion for myself and to sell. You're really going to complain about buying frion to also get a gauge. Cause if it's low now you have what you need to fill it. lol
Then my advice is take it to the a mechanic and pay $100 diagnosis fee and have it looked at since you don't know the problem and don't want to buy a gauge to take my advice. Or start calling up all of your friends and see if anyone has one. Or if anyone needs frion you can go half and half

Put the gauge on, AC cranked to high for 3 minutes, compressor never came on.
As per instruction on the can, sprayed half in, as soon as I started spraying the compressor kicked on.
Full can put in and I read to the far end of the "filled" spectrum of the gauge (but its also like 90 degrees outside so I think it is actually quite lower).
Now.. AC is rocking out so I start looking around afterwards and hear a hiss... and see some green goop. Doubt ill have AC for long.
Can I just have this part of my AC line replaced to fix this problem most likely? Possible the leak sealant in the can *could* seal it up??? just wait and see??

Re: Air conditioning not working - no errors in diagnostics
well few days later, still got AC.. assume the leak has been at least temporarily sealed.
+1 for the sealant in the AC recharger I used.
Ill post back if if my AC goes out again - but still interested in whether that is a known fail point or if replacing that stretch of piping would be advisable.

cabin air filter is mostly for your breathing... but still should do it!
Please keep us posted about your AC situation... this is good info we have here!

@EJ8 You should be able to replace just that line with no problems, most likely a Honda only replacement part. I.E. you won't be able to buy a new one at the local parts store, hit Honda or order one online. Since you seem to still have a/c at the moment I would wait until your system stops again as the gas will be lost when you replace the line. If you are an earth conscious person you can go and have the system evacuated at a shop that performs a/c repairs, replace the line and then refill again yourself to save some cash. I know I wouldn't want to be on a road trip and have the a/c stop working.
@ekb16a If I recall correctly the older integras and civics had a single wire plug coming from them that was the actuator power. If you give this line 12v power while the car is running you should hear the compressor kick on. This will tell you the compressor is still rotating (not locked up) but does not necessarily mean the compressor is fully functional. There are internal parts that can wear out and the compressor may kick on but not actually pump the coolant.
***Realizing this is an older thread i'm wondering how your ac is holding up EJ?
