Default 2002 RSX

My girlfriend is planning on buy a 2002 RSX. There is one for sale down the street from her house for 8 grand original owner. I looked at it and drove it a couple days ago. The car is mint in and out, the motor runs great. There is a sqeeky sound comming from the power steering pump and that is the only problem i found with the car. However, the car has 100,000 miles on it and her parents are worried that is too many. I know its deffinetely not too many miles ive owned nothing but hondas with over 170,xxx and never had problems. But its their money, and they dont want to invest in something that will break. I need an honest opinion is this a good deal for this car? or should i try to talk him down a bit? any help would be appreciated.

Is it base? or S. if base, auto or 5spd.
I have an 02 RSX but not with that many mailes. its a K20 engine and it is very reliable if it gets taken care off.
ive had my car since 0miles to today wich is about 80,000 miles and ive raged the **** out of my car and it still works just fine, an its a base 02 rsx 5spd.
this is just MO but generally RSX's are known for there reliability. now for the price, that would be a personal opinion also. i wouldnt pay 8k for rsx with 100k miles on it. no matter how reliable the car is.

yeah sorry i forgot. Its a Not a type s and it is a 5spd. We have been driving around dealer to dealer looking at RSX's and couldent find anything under 15,000. And some of those cars had over 60,000 miles already. I would much rather play 8g for a car with 100k especially when you have to double to price just to get the same car with 40k less. Doesnt make much sense to me. Anyone with other opinions?

go for that car, what i was sayin is that you should at least haggle with them. never take a dealers first offer. at least try get it down to 5 or 6k.

I would say go for it but dont give 8k. In canada an 02 premium whith 120000km goes for 8900. Just to compare a 2006 type s whith 50000km goes for around 26-28000. So I would offer 6500 and hope to get it for 7000

All Honda/Acuras in general are known for that.

k so were getting the car. we took it to a mechanic this morning for his opinion and for him to check it out. he says its fine it just needs brakes and tires. so i talked to the owner and talked him down to 7500. we should be picking it up sometime this week.
