Default Windshield vs Semi Truck Tire. (find out who wins)

this happened last night. driving on the highway, a van in front crushes the tire kicking it out back right into my windshield.

just glad it didnt crush my hood or roof. just wipers and glass.

with a LOT of tape. good as new.

Does the driver-side Recaro seat have a 'holy ****!' stain now? Personally, that would have scared the **** out of me...

Im amazed thats all that got damaged, it could have been a lot worse i guess.

How much does an ITR windshield go for ?

I know their thinnner than regular integra windshields, so i wonder if that means more expensive ??

Actually I believe the ITR windshield is the same as any Integra in the US. Price would depend on if you go OEM or not. I had a aftermarket windshield installed for around $100.

same here in ky. i made sure to ask for factory glass from acura(honda). going to take long since it has to be ordered.

<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by 255.255.255.255 &raquo;</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">did the trucker stop or keep going?</TD></TR></TABLE>

the shredded tire was already on the road and the van in front just happen to run it over shooting it into my windshield. so the van kept going.

<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by Haleiwa-Brando &raquo;</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">Does the driver-side Recaro seat have a 'holy ****!' stain now? Personally, that would have scared the **** out of me...</TD></TR></TABLE>

i didnt even slow down. when my windshield got hit i was like who dropped a brick on me. my buddy told me that he saw it coming from the van. but too fast and late to do anything.

whats funny is that i just ran over a small piece of tire same night just a few min before this. and i got lucky on that too no damage to my bumper or lip. well if you call it luck.

OE glass or nothing... But PPG is good too.

please have it done right, once. the windshield is a big safety item and needs to be installed 100%.

dang, when i had to get glass, honda turned me away
they are like, well, if you really want to do it we can, but it will be about $900 just for the glass

they gave me the name of a place who came and installed for $210 i think
of course they left me a free dent on my new fender

That's good, my bro had an integra a long time ago, the front windshield cracked, they tried putting some crap non OEM one in. He ended up having to wait 2 weeks for a new one.

That's crazy, it looks like your hood doesn't have a scratch on it.

It's not going to expand enough to cause damage BUT if the body of the car twists then it could touch the pinch weld area and cause it to crack.

If you were in the NYC area I could recommend a shop or do it myself for you.

BTW, silicone is not safe or good to install a windshield with, The proper adhesive is Urethane.
