Default Water Pump

Looking at two, a BLUEPRINT & NPW. Which is best?

Who makes the OE pump?

Cheers,
Tom

The engine has only done 67k miles. I am in two minds whether it needs changing or not?

if you're doing a timing belt service I would advise replacing it and have that peace of mind for less than $100

^This

Also time plays a factor in belt changes. Even though it is only 67k a water pump, timing belt and tensioner is cheap in the long run.

When was the coolant last changed?

The coolant was last changed about two months ago.

A water pump from Honda in the UK is more like £100. Roughly $170.

OEM Honda water pumps are made by both Yamada (YNA), Aisin & Keihin. You can usually get Aisin pumps in an Aisin without the embossed Honda logo (in an Aisin box) for much cheaper. YNA & Keihin don't sell in an aftermarket box.

All that being said, you could simply inspect your pump and see if it needs replacing. Any excessive coolant stains (more than a drip from the bleed hole), difficulty turning the pulley by hand, noisy when turning, or the bearing feels funny as you turn it....means replace the pump.
