want to remove tint from my rear window
I bought the car with tints but they are awful so I started removing them. I got the two fronts as well as the quarter glass removed but i'm scared to do the rear due to the defroster lines. What i used was a razor blade and some varsol, the ones finshed are perfect. I don't know what to do with the rear, as i'm afraid to cut the lines. Anybody have a better idea?

Re: want to remove tint from my rear window
As far as how much, for me to do it I would charge at least $125(a detail place would def. do it cheaper), its a huge pain in the *** to do it and not f up the defroster. My mother wants me to do her car and I told her to take that **** somewhere if it bothers her. The good thing about the integra is at least its a hatchback so you can flip it up and work somewhat comfortably.

get you a fabric steemer like a conair from target or walmart for 30 bucks. then get u some aircraft glue residue remover and some Oop's glue residue remover from home depot. and your set and u wont mess up your defrost lines.. i just did mine and it looks brand new.
i did my rear quaters in like 15 mintues and my rear window in like 1 hour and it's the easiest way to go.

Call your local tint shop ask how they do it. I believe they use a steel wool. Me and my girlfriend laid on our backs scrubbing with alcohol for hours on my first one. If I only knew then what I know now.

Use a water based steamer on a warm day with a flat plastic scraper. It takes some time but the glue will come off with some rubbing.

Re: want to remove tint from my rear window
The tint I had on my rear window had been there for so long it seemed like it was fused to the glass. I tried scraping, steel wool, goof off, ammonia and every other trick I was told and I was moving at a rate of a mm per hour. It wouldn't peel off it was just coming off in tiny flakes. I got so frustrated I used a small 2-1/2" wire brush on a drill and it worked great. Defroster lines are completely intact, then I used a small wire brush on a dremel to get in the curved areas on the side. There are a few very fine scratches on the glass but theyre hardly noticeable and its much better than the nasty *** tint that was there.
