a solenoid is a solenoid.........perhaps maybe the pressure switch may make a difference since vtec engagment points are different, but as far as the solenoid goes i dont see why one would have an advantage over the other!

There are no differences, the pressure switch is also the same. VTEC engagement is entirely dependent upon outside electronic control via the ECU and/or any piggybacks you might have.
