VAFC Settings on GSR!!!
I'm trying to tune my V-AFC on my GSR with OBD-II. I had someone help me out when I first installed it. Here are my settings:
VTEC xover:
L-H: 5300
H-L: 4900
Fuel curve is gradually dumping about 11% more fuel at vtec. Fuel curve looks more like a bell curve.
Mods:
Intake, Exhaust.....
Am I running too rich here? I heard that Type-Rs run really rich from the factory, is that true for GSR's too? The car feels real good and pulls a bit harder, but after reading a couple of posts on the Type R forum, it seems that the R guys are leaning out across the aboard with the V-AFC. Can someone with the same type of set up offer some advice? I don't wanna be running to rich.
Thanks!!!

Re: VAFC Settings on GSR!!! (gspeedline228)
vasquez...that's part of the reason i posted here to, not to say that my fellow gsr folks don't know what they are talking about, i have complete faith in them, but i'm looking to get help wherever i can get it, so if that bothers you Ross, then don't bother addressing my problem. I am aware that there is a "regular" integra forum.
Thanks......
Thanks......

Re: VAFC Settings on GSR!!! (AoiGSR)
I think you vtec xover is too high especially if you have GSR cams. I highly doubt you need 11% more fuel. If anything you need to lean it out not richen it up. Try leaning it out -1 to -3%. the factory ecu is way rich.

Re: VAFC Settings on GSR!!! (gspeedline228)
thanks fast, i appreciate the input. So my wide band settings for the fuel curve at low vtec all the way to high vtec should look like an upside down bell curve? I'll try your suggestions on what to set it and run it, then I'll check the plugs. Anyone else have some input??
Thanks!!
Thanks!!

gspeedline: seriously, take it to a dyno with a wideband a/f. That is the best way to tune a VAFC unless you are Jack. Oh, and don't worry about Ross, I don't think he was being too serious, if he was.. well you know these ITR owners...

I'm sure the guys in the regular Integra forum would be happy to help you with tuning your GS-R...

Re: VAFC Settings on GSR!!! (2K1 GS-R)
lol.....well, my vtec crossover is at 4400, but when my second runners open up it opens up at 5300 instead of 6000. Thats what i meant by that. Cams are not in my current plans for the motor because i'm planning on goin FI (turbo....mmmm) and can sit on the stock cams for a while. I know I am running way rich, cuz the car bogs when vtec engages and i throw a CEL. I tried taking it down to 9% and that seemed to help. I ran it at the track with the 12% fuel increase and cut off about .4 seconds off my time in the 1/4. I don't know if i can directly attribute that to the VAFC, weather or what not, but it did help a good bit. I guess I should just take it to a dyno when I get the turbo slapped on!! I'll let u guys know how it goes....thanks for all the input from those were kind enough to help....lol

Normally you need can lean it out a lot with the stock ECU, but every car is difference, so you wouldn't know for sure unless you dyno it. A setting work for one car with the same set up, doesn't mean it will work for your car.

Re: VAFC Settings on GSR!!! (DC2-Rated)
I have been playing with mine on my ITR (set stock right now) and seem to get the most power by leaning it out just a little bit. what do you other ITR guys have yours set at?
