Default Unplugging EVAP purge solenoid dangerous?

Right now I have my EVAP purge solenoid unplugged and i was wondering if this was dangerous? I was brousing clubsi, and someone on there said

"Your cannister can get saturated with fuel. Eventually, it will overspill with fuel and leak out causing a possible fire hazard. Not to mention VOC compounds released into the atmosphere. "

Does anyone know if this is true?

Andrew, the OBD2 Evap/Purge system runs differently than the OBD1 system. Unplugging it stops the hunting idle some people get when you are using an OBD1 ECU. Since the ECU isn't looking for the OBD2 solenoid, no CEL. Not sure what the differences between the two EVAP systems are, though.
