do you have contact info for the Honda dealer in the area ... I wonder if they would be willing to ship DC5-R parts to the US!</TD></TR></TABLE>
We dont get our R's from the dealer straight from Japan, we have local people who sell both new and use parts if you want I could send you some info parts. Or you can PM me and I try and source the parts for you

Very impressed with the quality of Rs down there. Now if the US customs/DMV would stop sucking maybe it might be easier for us to get some of that JDM lovin over here.

Thats ridiculous!!! I had no clue that jamaica recieved EVERY model made of Type R's. And I also thought that the new civic Type R sedan was specifically for the japanese market only. Non the less that is awesome! The only Type R we ever got was the DC2.

If there were LHD cars in those pics this comment would have concerned me a bit, however most of the cars pictured we didn't even get with the exception of the DC2.

Re: Type R Link Up In Jamaica (demdem)
Looks like you guys had a hell of a turnout!
I saw tons of DC2's in Jamaica when I went there a few years ago on vacation. That's great you guys have a scene that strong.
Most people don't realize that Jamaica has LHD and JDM fronts on all the Integras; I know that I was unaware prior to traveling there. So, even though you're on vacation you can still look at other cars, but blabbing about them to your wife like usual is off limits because she really won't care. LOL!!!

Re: (IntegrasAreBest)
That's because there's shops that specialize in RHD to LHD swaps. It happens massively here in the Dominican Republic too, but when I mean massively I mean with the regular daily drivers that sell like candy. 96-00 Civic's, Corolla's, etc.
We also have LHD Swapped DC2s, DC5s, I even once saw a S15 Silvia with this swap done and the result was pretty clean, Toyota Altezzas (massive right now), you name it.
I think we have it backwards. Here, you can import the car legally and register it without major trouble, but you can't drive it in RHD. They give you up to 6 months after the car is in your hands to perform the RHD to LHD swap. If you don't do it, you start getting tickets and I think they could end up taking your car to the station.
You guys, I've seen it's the other way around. You find trouble when importing/registering, but I've seen people driving freely in RHD, like it's perfectly legal.
