Default Type R Cat converter vs GSR cat converter

Some one here knows the difference between the Type R cat converter and the GSR cat converter. Can I use the Gsr cat converter in my 2000 R without any problems???

The ITR has the upstream oxygen sensor located on the header, and downstream located on the same piece of the catalytic converter. I believe the GSR catalytic converter carries both the upstream and downstream oxygen sensors on the whole catalytic converter piece. (atleast that's true about the '98 GSR)

I don't know if it matters if you use both slots that are on the GSR catalytic converter, and leave the header slot blank, or vice versa. It may not work. You're better off just buying a universal cat that fits the California emission standards, and just have the flanges welded to it.

Yes I already know but anyway I'll need to mod the cat because my car has the JDM header 2.5 collector.

I think they are interchangeable in 2000/2001... maybe in 99, i can't remember. I know for sure that the 2000/2001 has the exact same "ITR" exhaust manifold, so there is no primary O2 on the cat, like other GSR's

Kinda confusing, but you are right in the other post, you cannot use a USDM cat on a JDM header unless you plan to modify the cat's flange to bolt to the JDM 2.5" collector.
