Default any difference between CTR and ITR trannies?

is there any difference between the CTR and the ITR trannies? i know the JDM 98+ has the lower ring gear and GSR 4-5th but all of the others appear to be the same as the CTR. i'm looking at one CTR trans with R4 LSD stamped on it. from what i can find it's the same thing as the USDM and 96-97 JDM ITR trans. am i right?

Yes, same gearing as non-98 spec ITR tranny.

I read somewhere that only the ITR tranny has dual syncros along all gears? Someone confirm/refute!

Nah, all B series VTEC trannies that I have opened up have the dual cone synchros on 2nd: SiR, SiR-G, CTR and ITR.
From left to right:
ITR tranny and diff, CTR tranny? and diff and SiR Tranny and diff.

The EK9 CTR transmission has a helical LSD like the ITR.

i was under this impression as well but one wonders which tranny the above poster has if he's torn it open and found a clutch lsd. was there a mid year change?

i was about to buy a ctr trans of unknown mileage for 800, almost did and then found a new in the honda crate USDM ITR tranny for 1300, to me it was worth the extra 500 for a new piece.

I installed a CTR helical LSD in my GSR transmission. Same p/n as the ITR. All of the synchros are the same as well.

I do not know what transmission Clerique has. I'd be looking at that clutch LSD to see who made it.

I don't recall Honda having offered a clutch-type lsd in any factory B trans; just viscous and gear types. Sometimes imported drivetrains include aftermarket parts (especially if sourced from stolen cars).

My CTR transmission came with a clutch-type LSD.
It's a KAAZ Option after reading up a little on it.
(mine is a 97 spec CTR)

You guys might be right. All documentation and research says that the EK9 has the same LSD as the DC2 (R). But the tranny I put up came from a friend's EK9. There was some unusual silver paint over spray on the casing although his car is Championship White.
The Tranny is a S4C and EK4 SiR's have the same code and come in silver. And that LSD is the same as the Integra SiR-G LSD. I think my friend got conned.

My apologies for misinformation.
