Default Restoring 2000 ITR PY 00-0883

This picture makes an interesting start. Like people say every ITR has a story.

Quick story on this car. I have known the original owner since it was purchase new out of Acura of BROOKFIELD in 2000.
Stayed in wisconsin for 3 season not driven in winter.
Owner moved to Arkansas and it was driven down there ever since.
I reconnected with the owner after some years.
Asked him if he still had. Which he did.
He stayed didn't drive the car much but it sat outside. For some time and has deteriorated. Asked him for if he wanted to sell.
We talked and found out car had really low mileage still under 60k miles.
He offers to sell if I wanted. Reason for selling the car to me is that I am goi g to restore it.

I wanted it because it had all the important original parts are there. All the vins were there engine and all panels. Plus clean title clean car fax. My goal is to get back to completely stock.

Drove it back 13 hours straight back home. Uneventful.

Definitely a nice pick up. I'm pretty jealous of that odometer.

Looks like a very solid platform for a restoration. A field in Arkansas is about as close to a "barn find" as you can get. The 13 hour drive home was probably a great way to get acquainted with the new ride. Congrats man! Looking forward to seeing what you do to her.

All Vins and original sticker. Awesome!
Keep up the great work. Definitely worth bringing back to life.

Are you going to keep it once it is all done?

What a great platform. This will be back to top shape in no time. Like what you are doing here. Engine bay looks night and day after the pressure wash. Will keep an eye on your thread!

I am restoring this one and keeping it. Old enough now to true appreciate how rare these cars are now

Already source the complete stock exhaust.

Stopped off at the body shop. Must of the car has been buff and wet sanded. Only rear bumper left.

Only thing I would have done differently is remove the taillights and headlights, and have the bumpers sprayed off the car.

Other than that, you are moving quick and yes, much better since the goat pics lol!

Good friend that own the body shop and cut me a killer deal. Was just appreciated that he did a great job one. In the perfect world i would of spent $6-8k and have the car completely striped down and repainted.

ditto. for what this car could be worth, the time to at LEAST remove the bumpers and lights would have totally been worth it.
great find though

Best way to protect car when working on it. Carpet shield self adhesive. From Home Depot
