Default Rebuild of 01-0980

Whats up guy's I know its been a while but shes finally up and running. Some of you might rememember I already had a rebuild thread of 01-0980 and I decided to close because I was becoming very paranoid of thieves and didnt want to have any pics up anywhere. Well heres some pics of 01-0980 from the day I first went to look at her and the way she is now. she's still not completed and probally will never be, but atleast I can drive her lol

Quick history. 1 owner besides myself, orignially from staten Island before moving to FL in 05, clean title. the orginial owner kept the motor and tranny, why? I dont know. she was completely striped and molested. hopefully I can put her back to where she should be.

here you go
(sorry for the big pics)

First day I saw her had to take a 5 hour drive.

came with TYPE Rx pedals ftw

Drove back the next evening/night and picked her up... felt like the longest drive ever

Finally got her home... quick cleaning and then storage

Had to do some heavy duty cleaning later

back to storage... temporary trinidad plate lol

started to collect some parts
got alot of left overs from HL after his R was stollen... thanks again

OEM USDM lip and authentic Js racing intake

few more months past... time to remove that horrible cage.

picked up a parts car... 01 gsr from a close friend for 200 minus the si wheels lol thanks Ray

so i finally got a donor for my interior... which was frickin MINT!!

ca
I didnt have a non sunroof headliner so I got a little creative... relax its temporary, but I like it lol

Super MINT 01 itr back seats... temp red s2k front seats (no pics) carpet was later removed and washed

got lucky and picked up these and oem itr exhaust, and benen strut bar (no pic)

for the next few months she had little changes notting major. just alot of deatailing.

I got a crackhead deal on a real deal 96 jdm spec itr head so I jumped on that. thanks norburt. from there everything fell together quite easily.

i sent the head out to the machine shop and she came back minty fresh

I had this lil toy laying around so I decided why no throw it in lol

I made some time and finished it all up for now

This is how she sits right now, unfortunately the jdm 16s needs tires so im rolling on these for now

Shes been running since late April. Since then I have also picked a few more parts but I havent had the time to install them. she still needs alot of parts ex. exhaust piping and a muffler if any one has a turbo muffler lmk. she also waiting on intercooler piping. she currently sits at 65,111. ill def. try to keep this thread updated as much as I can.

special thanks to all the guys I've met in the R community. thanks for all help guys.

I know your pain on this one. Now own my second R and can't see why I'd ever sell it.

Many here share your paranoia. Blur out your plate (and put another 10mm in her )

Nice progress! She looks great!
